June 11, 2016 Dear David Cartwright: Congratulations! Your film “Five Nights of Waking Dreams” has been accepted for presentation in the 2016 Southern Maryland Film Festival. Your acceptance into the festival grants you two free (one for you, and one for a guest) to the Opening Night Filmmakers’ Reception at Romauld Hall on the campus of St. Mary’s Ryken on Friday, July 15th from 6:00-9:30 p.m. Enjoy some light refreshments as you socialize and network with other festival filmmakers and panelists. Jury nominated films will be recognized and the Festival’s Jury Prize will be awarded at this event. You will also receive two free tickets (one for you, and one for a guest) to Saturday’s all-day Festival on the Square in Leonardtown. The day begins at 8:00 a.m. with several local establishments offering breakfast. Films will begin screening at 10:00 a.m. and workshops will be offered throughout the day. A closing ceremony will be held around 5:30 p.m. on the Square Saturday, weather permitting. Participating filmmakers, event organizers, volunteers, and sponsors will be acknowledged. Awards will be given to the films voted as audience favorites during the festival. We will be in touch soon with your schedule for the day.
